The FHS says "No large software packages should use a direct subdirectory under the /usr hierarchy". This package contains a directory in /usr that is not mentioned in the Filesystem Hierarchy Standard. Please refer to The /usr Hierarchy (Chapter 4) in the Filesystem Hierarchy Standard for details.
