This assumption does not hold in Debian environments, especially on non-amd64 architectures (e.g., arm64), where packages may be built differently and lack dist-info metadata. In such cases, MNE-Python correctly falls back to '?' for unknown versions. This is expected behavior and should not cause test failures. |
