| 0001-Make-cache-timing-tests-deterministic.patch | Make cache timing tests deterministic The cache measures file age from mtime, while the tests measured elapsed wall time from a later t0. Scheduling delays or coarse file timestamps can therefore make a cache hit correct even when the tests expect two direct reads. Catching AssertionError or retrying the test also hides regressions instead of checking the intended behavior. Control only the cache module's clock and anchor it to the timestamps actually stored by the filesystem. Check both bypass and cache-hit behavior without sleeps or conditional assertions. Retain real file I/O, force a distinct mtime for the same-size rewrite, and verify invalidation with the same arguments outside the recent-file window. Add explicit checks for positive and negative ages, the strict window boundary, empty directories, and selection of the latest child mtime. The runtime implementation and joblib's clock are unchanged. |
