Debian Patches

Status for libgpg-error/1.38-2

Patch Description Author Forwarded Bugs Origin Last update
0001-Remove-upstream-git-fanciness.patch Remove upstream git fanciness
Debian needs to be able to build libgpg-error while using git for
tracking the debian packaging itself. Debian also wants to autoreconf
this stuff. However, Debian does *not* need to conform exactly to
upstream's git configurations.

This avoids mistakes like accidentally identifying running code as a
beta.

0003-build-On-cross-build-detect-host-s-objdump.patch build: On cross build, detect host's objdump.
* configure.ac [*-*-linux*] (CROSS_HOST_OBJDUMP): New.

--

To support widely, we could also use objdump configured for multiple
archs which supports host's format (instead of $host_alias-objdump),
like objdump in binutils-multiarch of Debian, but it's not that easy
to maintain the code to determine format name from $host_alias.

Or we could use eu-size in elfutils.
