Debian Patches

Status for python-h3/4.5.0-1

Patch Description Author Forwarded Bugs Origin Last update
build-against-system-libh3.patch Build against the system libh3 instead of the bundled submodule h3-py 4.5.0 normally compiles the H3 core library from the bundled
src/h3lib submodule. Build against the libh3-dev package from Debian
instead: find the library via pkg-config (the CMake package config from
libh3-dev references executables shipped in libh3-bin), link the Cython
extension modules against the shared library and include h3api.h from
/usr/include/h3. The internal cellsToMultiPolygon API is not part of
libh3-dev's public headers, so provide minimal declarations (the symbols
are exported by the shared library) in a local cellsToMultiPoly.h.

reproducible-build.patch Use a fixed build directory for reproducible builds scikit-build-core defaults to building in a unique temporary directory.
That path is recorded in the DWARF debug information of the compiled
Cython extension modules, which in turn changes their build-id, so every
build produces a different .deb. Build in a fixed directory inside the
source tree instead; it is normalized to "." by -ffile-prefix-map, making
the build reproducible.
