Patch Description Author Forwarded Bugs Origin Last update
skip-requests-tests-needing-mocket.patch Skip the requests tests that need mocket
test_requests_integration.py and test_user_agent_synthetic.py mock HTTP
traffic with mocket, which is not packaged in Debian. Skip both modules with
pytest.importorskip(), so they run again once mocket is available.

skip-aiohttp-client-tests-needing-http-server-mock.patch Skip the aiohttp client tests that need http_server_mock
Three tests in test_aiohttp_client_integration.py use HttpServerMock from
http_server_mock, which is not packaged in Debian, and the module imports it
unconditionally. Import it only if available and skip just those three tests
otherwise, so the rest of the module still runs.

skip-aiohttp-client-tests-for-newer-aiohttp.patch Skip aiohttp client tests that expect aiohttp 3.10 behaviour
Upstream runs these tests against aiohttp 3.10.2, Debian has aiohttp 3.14.
With the newer aiohttp, an unknown host raises ClientConnectorDNSError
instead of ClientConnectorError, and no exception event is recorded on the
span for a ServerDisconnectedError. Skip the four affected tests.

skip-fastapi-tests-failing-in-debian.patch Skip FastAPI tests that fail in Debian's test environment
Two groups of tests in test_fastapi_instrumentation.py cannot pass here:

- test_entry_point_exists and test_instruments_with_fastapi_installed
expect fastapi's to be the only installed opentelemetry_instrumentor
entry point. The Debian build tests all instrumentations built from this
source with one shared PYTHONPATH.
- Seven tests record more spans than expected with the FastAPI (0.143) and
Starlette (1.7) in Debian, which are newer than the versions upstream
tests against (FastAPI <= 0.137.2, Starlette <= 1.3.1).

relax-aiohttp-client-test-metrics-min-duration.patch Relax test_metrics duration assertions for fast machines

The old-semconv http.client.duration histogram is recorded in whole
milliseconds (max(round(elapsed * 1000), 0)), so sub-0.5 ms requests on
fast machines are recorded as 0, making the > 0 assertions fail. Assert
>= 0 instead, matching upstream's own httpx integration tests, which do
the same for the same reason.

docs-Don-t-load-SVG-graphic-for-Slack-Chat-link.patch docs: Don't load SVG graphic for Slack Chat link
Don't do any sideloading for graphics, this could become a privacy
issue. Use a classical linkage instead without any graphics.

This is the same change as in the python-opentelemetry source package.

Use-local-intersphinx-resources-where-possible.patch Use local intersphinx resources where possible
We can use the objects.inv files from the various -doc packages we have
within the archive, the build has no network access.

The remaining mappings are only used by pages of sub-projects that are
not built by the Debian package (psycopg, psycopg2, opentracing, pymongo,
redis, fsspec), so they are commented out.

This follows the patch of the same name in the python-opentelemetry
source package.

docs-Only-build-the-pages-of-sub-projects-shipped-in-Debian.patch docs: Only build the pages of sub-projects shipped in Debian
The upstream documentation covers every sub-project of the monorepo.
The Debian package builds only a subset of them, and autodoc can't
import the modules of the others (their dependencies are not even
packaged in most cases). Sphinx builds every source file, whether it is
in a toctree or not, so exclude the pages of the sub-projects that are
not shipped, and drop the toctrees that would be empty.

docs-Don-t-load-PyPI-badge-images.patch docs: Don't load PyPI badge images
The READMEs included in the documentation show a PyPI version badge
loaded from badge.fury.io. Don't do any sideloading for graphics, this
could become a privacy issue. Use a plain link to the PyPI project page
instead.
