| Add_dynamic_scheduling_operation_mode.patch | Add dynamic scheduling operation mode Backport of upstream PR #271 against 4.2.1: adds the experimental --dynamic option to `stestr run`. Workers are long-lived spawned processes pulling test ids from a shared queue, which keeps every worker busy until there are no tests left instead of pre-partitioning the test list up front. . Includes the follow-up fixes: pass the dynamic flag to _run_tests() (and follow cmd.dynamic), schedule the test ids of each group instead of the group ids (needed for group-regex/parallel-class configs), open the worker pipes in binary mode, use a module-level worker with per-worker sentinels instead of pickling the fixture into each worker, capture the workers' stdout into the subunit stream, report crashed workers as process-returncode failures, fix get_dynamic_test_list(randomize=True) returning None, and reset the subunit_trace state on each trace()/load() call. Each dynamic worker also mirrors the state of the non-dynamic runner subprocesses: it loads the whole test tree through the same unittest discovery (seeding the import side effects projects rely on, like Neutron test models registering into a shared sqlalchemy metadata), runs the discovered tests matched by id (the unittest name loader cannot resolve ddt-generated ids), presents the same sys.argv[0] and gets the ${VAR:-default} test_path of the config expanded. Also adds unit and functional tests. |
