| Patch | Description | Author | Forwarded | Bugs | Origin | Last update |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| tornado6-stop-io-loop-via-callback.patch | Wake the IOLoop when stopping it from another thread ThreadLoop.stop() calls IOLoop.stop() from the calling thread. With tornado 6 (asyncio), that only sets the loop's _stopping flag: a loop asleep in its selector never observes it, and thread.join() then hangs forever (a race: it works only when stop() lands within the same loop iteration). Schedule stop as an IOLoop callback instead: add_callback is documented thread-safe and wakes the loop through its self-pipe, making the shutdown deterministic. |

| tornado6-fix-plain-function-exception.patch | Fix submitted plain functions raising exceptions With tornado 6, gen.Future() is an asyncio.Future which has no set_exc_info() (that API belonged to tornado's own Future up to 5.x). When a plain (non-coroutine) function submitted through ThreadLoop raised, execute() therefore crashed with an AttributeError inside the IOLoop callback, the concurrent.futures.Future never received its exception and the caller hung forever in future.result(). Set the exception on the outer future directly instead. |

| pytest-yield_fixture-compat.patch | Fix test suite for pytest >= 8 pytest.yield_fixture was deprecated in pytest 6.2 and removed in pytest 8.0: use the yield-style @pytest.fixture instead, which is semantically equivalent (and works with all supported pytest versions). |

| fix-find_packages-tests-exclude.patch | Fix find_packages() exclude list Newer setuptools (observed with 84.0.0) no longer prunes sub-packages of an excluded parent package: find_packages(exclude=['tests']) returns ['threadloop', 'tests.threadloop'], so the built wheel ships a top-level tests/ directory into dist-packages. dh_python3 (>= 7.20261019) rejects such packages (fs:312), making the build fail. Also exclude the 'tests.*' sub-packages, as recommended by setuptools' own documentation. |
