| 0001-tests-build-test_firehose-without-jump-tables.patch | tests: build test_firehose without jump tables test_firehose.c #includes firehose.c and relies on -ffunction-sections and --gc-sections to discard everything but the response parsers under test, so that only the ux_* logging stubs need to be provided. On ppc64el this fails to link with undefined references to qdl_read, ux_progress, vip_*, SHA256* and others. The switch statement in firehose_run() is compiled to a jump table whose address is loaded from the .toc section. Unlike .text, .toc is a single section per object shared by every function, so it is always kept, and its relocation against .text.firehose_run keeps firehose_run() and its whole call graph alive. Build the test with -fno-jump-tables so no .toc entry points into otherwise dead code. This only affects the test binary; the parsers it exercises are unchanged. |
