Debian Patches

Status for scala-js/1.22.0+ds-1

Patch Description Author Forwarded Bugs Origin Last update
0001-linker-without-closure.patch Build the linker without the Closure Compiler back end The Closure back end needs closure-compiler v20220202; Debian has
20130227, and upstream deprecated the back end in 1.21.0 (off by
default). debian/build-driver.sh does not compile
linker/jvm/.../backend/closure, and this patch removes the two
references to it: asking for Closure is now an error instead.
Upstream's default output (and the scaladoc front end, built with
withMinify(true)) does not use Closure.

0002-linker-sequential-optimizer.patch Use the sequential optimizer instead of the parallel one The parallel optimizer (ParCollOps) needs scala-parallel-collections,
which is not in Debian. debian/build-driver.sh does not compile
ParCollOps.scala, and the "parallel" optimizer is the sequential one,
which gives the same output (checked: scaladoc's two Scala.js programs
link to the same bytes as with upstream's linker).
